Title: Trigonal TriSphere
Artist: AJGlass
Image created by: AJGlass using an Epson Perfection 1200U scanner and PhotoShop.
Medium: Glass
Type: Soft Glass, 104 Coefficient of Expansion (Moretti/Effetre, Vetrofond, Lausha)
Description: Glass Bead

Details: The dime provided is for scale of the larger image. Inset images are different sides of the same bead. White and blue-green transparent glass was used to create this bead which has been annealed in a kiln. This bead took 20 minutes to make and 18 hours to anneal. It has been cleaned to remove the bead release/separator. No image color correction was necessary.

Discussion: It was difficult for me to create this bead for two reasons:

1. White soft glass when molten has the consistency of water and is thus difficult for me to work with.

2. The unique shape and symmetry of this bead are both hard for me to produce.

Further comment: This bead and its siblings, of which I created about a dozen, remind me of some strange sort of dice. Rolling them around in the palm of my hand the spheres really catch the light nicely. While they may look like they are simply sitting on the surface, the spheres are securely fused to the trigonal body so they won’t fall off.

Oh, cool. I don't have any critique because I don't know how to make stuff like this, so all I have to say is cool and very pretty.

very beautiful, my husband would love to learn how to work with glass but he is not very good with delicate things.

I wish they would sell stuff like this in my fav beadstore! But even their 'hand-made' pieces are very boring... This, however, is very unique and funny, a pair would make lovely earrings. :-)
:icontrash-dogg:
well... that's different. very unique again, I like

Very. I like the idea of making dice.
I wish I could say something more, but I really don't critique on a lot of artisan craft, so I wouldn't know. *shrug* Sorry.

Erm, that would be, very cool...or very nice... Or something generic.
Because apparently my quasi-dyslexic self cut it out.

So pretty! I have so much glass jewelry... I love glass :P. If you don't already make jewelry and what not, you most certainly should.
