Title: Sudsy Purple Bone
Artist: AJGlass
Image created by: AJGlass using a Panasonic DMC-LZ7 Lumix 7.2 MP camera and PhotoShop.
Medium: Glass
Type: Soft Glass (this means it’s not borosilicate)
Description: Glass Beads and LEGOTM Minifigure
Details: The LEGOTM Minifigure pictured is to show scale of the glass bead. All AJGlass beads have been properly annealed. Due to the differences in monitor settings, this bead’s color may look slightly lighter, slightly darker, or otherwise different on your monitor than the bead itself. The “straight white lines” on this bead are light reflections.

Status: For Sale.
Item: One handmade white and transparent medium purple bone-shaped glass bead.
Price: $20.00 + $4 S&H (or $5 outside of the continental United States)
Contact: Please note me if you are interested in purchasing this bead.
Payment: PayPal.
Shipping: I ship beads via US Post in packaging suitable for glass beads.
Delivery: Please allow one week for delivery, longer for international orders. Weather permitting, I ship the following business day after payment has been received and cleared. Beads will be shipped with delivery confirmation.

Discussion: I think this bead would make an excellent centerpiece in a necklace and believe that it would also make an interesting subject for, or addition to, a wire wrapping project. I also think that this bone-shaped bead makes for a unique discussion piece and that its bumpy spiraling texture really adds a nice tactile feel to it. This bead is created from glass, and like all glass it can chip or break if dropped/thrown/crushed or otherwise abused. This bead is NOT suitable for small children, and poses a choking hazard if swallowed.

Further comment: I like this piece because it has a neat texture that goes from bumpy to smooth. The texture reminds me a bit of soap suds. It’s not often that one sees a bone in this shade of purple or with this kind of design. There is a small silver-colored bubble inside of the glass at the smooth end. I think that the bubble adds even more interest to the bead – like a little hidden planet within. If you’re into bones, the color purple, or if you have a very unique fashion sense, then this bone-shaped glass bead is for you. I am pleased to be able to provide this bone as the fifth piece that I am offering for sale online. Note me if you are interested in purchasing it. The LEGOTM Minifigure is not for sale.

Sales history: As a member of The Southeastern Michigan Glass Beadmakers Guild, I sold many of my glass pieces at the 2007 Winter Wonders Glass Show in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. More recently, I sold numerous glass pieces as a participant in the 2008 Spring Bead Bonanza show, which took place in Southfield, Michigan and which is a show that I have been participating in for many years.

Guarantee: I will do everything that I can to make sure that you are satisfied with your purchase. So if you are not satisfied with this bead for any reason, please return it prepaid in its original condition and in its original packaging for a full refund. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser. Please request return authorization in advance.

It can be used for decoration or adornment.

It can also be used as a sun catcher or as a pull for a light or a ceiling fan.

Here's what one deviant (jurv) did with a similarly-shaped bead: [link]
