Title: Cream in Your Coffee Artist: AJGlass Image created by: AJGlass using an Epson Perfection 1200U scanner and Photoshop. Medium: Glass Type: Soft Glass, 104 Coefficient of Expansion (Moretti/Effetre, Vetrofond, Lausha) Description: Glass Medallion Bead Details: The dime provided is for scale of the smaller image. The smaller image is the opposite side of the same medallion. Clear dark topaz and dark ivory glasses were used to create this medallion which has been annealed in a kiln. This piece took 15 minutes to make and 18 hours to anneal. No image color correction was necessary. Discussion: This medallion was relatively easy for me to make. The most difficult part was mixing the dark ivory glass into the dark topaz glass to create the stripes. It was fun pressing and flattening the molten glass between two graphite marvers to create the medallion shape. I think that the swirls of color mimic wonderfully the affect of pouring cream into coffee. Legal: Copyright © 2007 Aaron J. Greenblatt. All rights reserved. Commercial use prohibited. I've been sitting here for the last 20 minutes with all your latest glasswork open in tabs, just clicking back and forth and staring and wishing I had that kind of talent/skill/patience/mojo. These are gorgeous (and the Cheerios made me laugh XD )
Comment goes here because this is my favorite out of this set :> -- When life gives you lemons, baste a cow in butter and blow it up with a rocket launcher. ~ckirkillustr8 I like this one a lot. It kind of reminds me of the science text book drawings of Jupiter and the like
-- "Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant." This is definitely my favourite out of your latest lot. The visual texture in it is amazing and I love the way the 'milk' stripes seem to bleed into the 'coffee' stripes. It makes it look just like the real thing!
-- ~Adreanna; now in the extra-spicy brand of crazy, for a change. Oh yeah, I hadn't thought of the Jupiter reference. You're right.
